Why is this your favourite shirt? This gives me nostalgia, I think about junior school and my mate at the time, John Paul Manship. He was like a bar of soap to catch on the playground and when I think back to Man Utd I think Ryan Giggs was the same, it helps he was also Welsh like me.

 

Are there any happy or bad memories that come back to you when you see or think about this shirt? Good memories – I think cantona scored a great volley/goal against someone? Arsenal rings a bell. (Edit – it was actually against Wimbledon at Selhurst Park in the FA Cup 5th Round in 1994)

 

Bad memories – losing 3-1 to Aston Villa in the Coca-Cola Cup Final and missing out on a treble. :(

 

Who was the best player to wear this shirt? Ryan Giggs, without even thinking.

And the worst? Clayton Blackmore but only because most the squad were brilliant players.

 

You’ve got a huge number of Manchester United shirts in your collection. Are there any that you’re looking for that you haven’t got? Champions League 1999 goalkeeper shirt – would be more than happy when I finally get that.

 

How do you rate the shirts of today compared to years gone by? 90’s were great 00’s were okay 2010+ have gotten plain (& tighter). Wish some better designs would come out but maybe not as baggy.

 

And stop accommodating Xbox gamers with stupid designs. Players still need to wear it not your characters.

 

As you’re from the Welsh valleys do you have any interest in the Welsh game or like any of the teams from there? I keep half an eye on Newport County but not really. Follow the Wales national team a lot.

Why do you support United? Ryan Giggs – the success during his time helped naturally.

 

What was the first United game you went to and what was the score? Think vs Sheffield Wednesday – can’t remember the score. Probably around 1997 era.

 

How did United do in the season that’s just finished and what are your hopes for next season? Started average – peaked very high then crashed. 

 

Need a good clear out if we’re to get Champions League again. If we lose De Gea anywhere above mid table. 🤞
