Why is this your favourite shirt? It’s the reminder of the historic 20th league title and also the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson last season as manager. Fitting way to end his managerial career. 

 

So when I see this shirt, this memory comes to mind.

 

Are there any particular memories that come back when you see or think of this shirt? Positives: The signing of Robin van Persie. RVP last minute winning free kick at the Etihad. RVP hat-trick against Aston Villa at Old Trafford to seal the title. The 20th league title.

 

Negative: The sending off of Nani in the Champions League against Real Madrid at Old Trafford when it wasn’t a sending off. 

 

In your opinion who was the best player to wear this shirt? Everyone in the team this season put in the shift during the season but it has to be one man……Robin van Persie.

 

And the worst? There wasn’t really anyone that I can think off that was the worst player in the team but if I have to go for one, it’ll probably be Anderson….. as, in my eye, didn’t live up to the expectations as the star of the future.

 

How do you rate the shirts of today compared to years gone by? Shirts these days are designed and produced through technology to enhance performance but templates used for shirts these days are all the same with lack of creativity and design but compared to years gone by, shirts has definitely changed a lot especially the materials used and I think for the better.

 

BUT…..it’s the price of the shirts these days that is getting more ridiculous than the design.

 

How many United shirts do you own? Too many to count. I have every home shirt since 2002 to present but as for the away and third shirts, I didn’t collect every season so if I had to have a guess, I would say I have about 50-60 Manchester United shirts.

 

Is there anything you're looking to add to your collection? Hard to say as I want every Manchester United shirts out there that has been released but I think the ones I want to add at the moment is the treble winning season shirts in the 1998/99 season.

 

Why do you support Manchester United? The memory of winning the 1999 Champions League final made me start supporting Manchester United but I didn’t know how big this achievement was for the team until a few years later. After this I researched the clubs history and it was the history that got me even more interested in the club.

 

What was the first game you went to and what was the score? My 1st game was at Old Trafford against Everton in 23rd April 2011. The score was only 1-0 score by Javier Hernandez as we edged closer to the 19th League title.

 

When was the last time you went to Old Trafford? Last time I was at Old Trafford was on the 23rd March 2023. Manchester United Women vs West Ham United. The score was 4-0.

 

Do you have an interest in any other teams outside of The Red Devils? As I was born in Stockport, I would say the other team I have interested in is Stockport County (as I write this, they are through to the League 2 final after beating Salford on penalties).

 

How do you view the first season under Erik ten Hag and do you see United improving next season? I think ETH has done a brilliant job in his 1st season at Manchester United. The pressure was always there for any manager for such a big club but he has handled every situation brilliantly especially the Ronaldo saga. Winning a trophy, in the FA Cup final against City and in a Champions League spot, I think it’s been a successful season for his 1st season at the club.  

 

I am excited to see how the 2nd season will go and what recruitment is like and if the take over saga will continue but as for now….there is still MASSIVE improvement needed in all aspect as we're nowhere near the same level as Man City but the main target is trying to get a striker as most our games, we are lacking goals and failing to see of games.

 

Your best United XI from your time supporting the club? Tough but he it goes and I will go with a 4-4-2 diamond formation…..
