My Favourite Shirt - Part One

The very first My Favourite Shirt Q&A has Spurs fan, Kevin Bilton, speaking about his most favourite Tottenham shirt as well as his views on his beloved Lilywhites.

Kevin's treasured 1991/92-1992/93 Spurs Home Shirt

Why is this your favourite shirt? A British manufactured classic all white spurs shirt design made famous by the legendary Gazza and Gary Lineker.

Are there any happy or bad memories that come back to you when you see or think about this shirt? The memory of the first ever Wembley semi-final fresh in our minds where Arsenal were destroyed by a fantastic Spurs performance in the Hummel kit and the superlative 30 yard Gascoigne free kick it was all to play for in the final against Nottingham Forest. Beating Forest was the icing on the cake for Spurs but sadly tinged with sadness due the injury that plagued Gazza through the rest of his career and appeared to expedite his decision to leave Spurs.

Who was the best player who wore this shirt in your opinion? If I had to choose one it would be Gascoigne but Mabbutt or Lineker could also claim to be Spurs legends of the time.

And the worst? Don’t make me pick one, there isn’t one..........Nayim?

Why do you support Spurs? My father and his father.

What was the first Tottenham game you went to and what was the score? Honestly I can't would have been some time in the early 80's in the East stand.

How have Spurs done this season and how do you see the remainder of their season going? Outstanding could have done with a few signings certainly another striker perhaps a midfielder and maybe a defender but even with our finest players injured we are still delivering results.

Your best 1-11 from your time supporting the club? 1. Pat Jennings, 2. Ledley King, 3. Steve Perryman, 4. Gary Mabbutt, 5. Luka Modrić, 6. Paul Gascoigne, 7. Ossie Ardiles, 8. Glenn Hoddle, 9. Gareth Bale, 10. Harry Kane 11. Gary Lineker
